To help you get the most from your massage treatment and feel comfortable throughout your session, please follow these simple guidelines.
Before Your Massage
π§ Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water before your appointment. Good hydration can help you feel more comfortable during and after your treatment.
π½οΈ Avoid a Heavy Meal
Try not to eat a large or heavy meal immediately before your massage. Ideally, allow around 1β2 hours after a substantial meal before your treatment.
π· Avoid Alcohol
Please avoid alcohol before your massage. Alcohol can affect hydration, circulation and your awareness of pressure during the treatment.
π Avoid Strenuous Exercise
Avoid intense exercise or a demanding workout immediately before your massage, particularly if you are booked for a deep tissue or sports massage.
πΏ Personal Hygiene
Please shower or freshen up before your appointment where possible. This helps create a clean, comfortable and professional environment for both you and your therapist.
π Wear Comfortable Clothing
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that is easy to change in and out of. During the massage, you will be appropriately draped at all times, with only the area being treated exposed.
π©Ί Tell Your Therapist About Any Concerns
Before your treatment, please let your therapist know about any recent injuries, areas of discomfort, allergies, medications, medical conditions, or anything else that may affect your massage.
If you are unsure whether massage is suitable for you, please seek advice from your GP or an appropriate healthcare professional before booking.

After Your Massage
π§ Drink Plenty of Water
Continue drinking water after your massage to stay hydrated.
ποΈ Take It Easy
Give your body some time to relax after your treatment. Avoid strenuous exercise immediately afterwards, especially following deep tissue or sports massage.
πΏ Wait Before Showering
After a deep tissue or sports massage, it is recommended to wait around 2 hours before taking a hot shower or bath, where possible. This gives your body time to settle after the treatment.
If you need to shower sooner, use lukewarm water rather than very hot water.
π‘οΈ Avoid Excessive Heat
For a few hours after a deep tissue or sports massage, avoid very hot baths, saunas, steam rooms and other activities that may cause excessive heat or dehydration.
πͺ Some Soreness Can Be Normal
After a deeper treatment, you may experience mild tenderness or muscle soreness, similar to what you might feel after exercise. This usually settles within a day or two.
Gentle movement, rest and good hydration may help.
π§ Listen to Your Body
Your body may continue to relax for several hours after your massage. Take some time to rest and avoid pushing yourself too hard immediately after your treatment.
Most ImportantlyΒ
Every body responds differently to massage. If you experience unusual, severe or persistent pain or have any concerns following your treatment, seek appropriate medical advice.
